Annual wreath-making a success

 

PORTLAND, Conn. - Garden club members gathered at The Grange on Wednesday evening to assemble wreaths for various town buildings for the holiday season.  Members harvested a variety of evergreen materials from their gardens and the local area to assemble the unique wreaths. 

The wreaths are now headed to the Portland Post Office, Town Hall and Senior Center for display. 

One wreath was created specifically for the Festival of Wreaths fundraiser Dec. 3-4.  The Festival of Wreaths will include the chance to win more than 30 wreaths in a tea cup raffle. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each and there is no admission charge. More information can be found on the Portland Historical Society's Facebook page.
